The colophon

About this archive

The best of Charlie Munger is scattered. A two-hour Daily Journal meeting lives on one YouTube channel; the transcript lives on someone’s blog; the famous 1994 talk survives only as text in a book; half the “1986 speech” videos online are actually a different talk entirely. This is an attempt to put it all in one honest, well-organized place — and to keep it there.

How it’s made

  • Every link is verified. If a recording is listed here, its source resolved when we checked it. Where a famous talk has no genuine recording, or a circulating video is mislabeled, we say so rather than pretend.
  • We embed; we don’t re-host. Recordings play from their original sources through the official player. The creators keep their views and their rights. We add the index, the context, and our own descriptions.
  • Quotes are sourced. We trace lines to the talk, meeting, or page where he said them, and flag the famous ones he never quite did.
  • Facts are hedged honestly. Where the record is uncertain — a date, a count — we use the careful wording rather than a confident guess.

Colophon

Set in Fraunces, Newsreader, and Courier Prime. Built to be fast, to last, and to be read — a small homage to Poor Charlie’s Almanack, which was itself a homage to Franklin’s.
